Plagiarism Detection System

1

The journal NEYART maintains a rigorous commitment to the originality of the works it publishes. To ensure academic integrity and prevent misconduct, all manuscripts received undergo a thorough verification process before being sent to the peer review stage.

Verification Tools

The editorial team uses specialized, high-precision software to identify matches and potential cases of plagiarism or self-plagiarism:

  • Turnitin: Used to check for similarities against a global database of scientific articles, theses, and web content.
  • Compilatio: Used for in-depth document analysis and academic integrity management.
  • Plagiarism Checker X Professional: Used as a complementary tool for technical comparison and analysis of detailed reports.

Acceptance and Rejection Criteria

The editorial committee analyzes the reports generated by these tools according to the following guidelines:

  1. Maximum Permitted Percentage: A maximum limit of 20% total similarity is established for a manuscript to proceed with the editorial process.
  2. Qualitative Analysis: Beyond the numerical percentage, the editorial team conducts a qualitative review. If it is found that the permitted percentage corresponds to the verbatim copying of critical sections (such as results or conclusions) without proper citation, the work may be rejected even if it is below the established limit.
  3. Rejection Protocol: If a manuscript exceeds 20% similarity, it will be returned to the author with the corresponding report. Depending on the severity, the author will be allowed to make the necessary adjustments and resubmit, or a definitive rejection will be issued in cases of evident plagiarism.

Any dispute related to the detection of similarities will be resolved in accordance with the protocols established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
