The organizational climate is a key factor that influences the individual and collective performance of members of the university community. A favorable climate contributes to job satisfaction, productivity and commitment, while a negative climate can generate demotivation and staff turnover. The main objective of this study was to diagnose the current organizational climate in a University, identifying the factors that influence it and proposing strategies to improve it.
A descriptive cross-sectional design was used. An organizational climate questionnaire, adapted from Cornelio's (2011) model, was applied to a sample of 10 afternoon shift teachers at the University. The questionnaire consisted of 29 items scored on a Likert scale from 1 to 5. The data were analyzed using SPSS software, calculating means, standard deviations and performing analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results revealed that 77% of the teaching staff surveyed feel satisfied with the organizational climate. However, areas of opportunity were identified related to internal communication, recognition of outstanding performance and professional development opportunities. This study contributes to the understanding of the organizational climate in the university environment, highlighting its importance for the success and development of educational institutions. The findings obtained provide valuable information to implement concrete actions that allow maintaining and constantly improving the work environment, promoting the well-being, productivity and commitment of all members of the university community, which will result in benefits for the institution and quality. of the education provided.
