Abstract

The research in question evaluated the reading comprehension in students of the last semester of Industrial Engineering through a quantitative methodological through a quantitative methodological approach. The study was carried out with a sample of 43 students sample of 43 students, divided into two groups, using the Cloze instrument called “Spatial Cloze's instrument called “Spatial Relations”, which consists of 308 words, with a of 308 words, with a reliability level of 90%. The findings indicated that the overall mean of reading comprehension was 82.19%, in which Group 2 exhibited a slightly higher performance. Group 2 exhibited a slightly higher performance (83.10%) compared to Group 1 (82.20%). Group 1 (82.20%). The demographic assessment revealed an almost even distribution gender distribution, with 51% female participation and 49% male, while 90% of the male, while 90% of the participants were in the age range of 21 to 25 years old. 21 to 25 years of age. The statistical results showed that the standard deviations were similar between the groups (1.5 to 1.5), deviations were similar between the groups (1.681 and 1.651, respectively), indicating a consistency in the levels of participation between the groups. Reading comprehension levels of the analyzed population were consistent. Population analyzed. Although the results are considered acceptable, the research identifies possibilities for improvement in the reading skills of future graduates, suggesting future graduates, suggesting an exhaustive evaluation of the factors that affect the development of this competency. The development of this essential competence. This study favors the understanding of the level of reading proficiency in students close to graduation, providing students, providing foundations for the development of pedagogical strategies for the pedagogical strategies.
